Celebrating at Home!

So today my fiancé and I wanted to celebrate us and have a nice dinner. He worked today and had a stressful day so I wanted to make him a delicious dinner. I was thinking steaks and his favorite roasted bell pepper pasta because it was a special occasion. I didn’t want to eat pasta because knew I would crash afterwards so all afternoon here I am thinking what should make for him. I was looking on pinterest and saw spring rolls. I came home from my parents heading straight the store got remaining vegetables found no rice paper wrappers. Boo! but then for some reason I wanted to wrap with seaweed wraps. So my modified spring rolls were rolled into like cone shape like I had had this one time at a sushi place. All that deliciousness contained fresh cucumber strips, avocado, bean sprouts, red chopped cabbage, chives, a little mint. Made 2 with shrimp and 2 with grilled pork loin strips. We ate the rest of the raw veggies with some Lemon Pepper Tahini and some fresh iced Sun Tea.

My fiancé loved it!!! And so did I. The freshness of the raw veggies and the flavors all combined together. I’m so happy with my healthier choice and proud how I take time to think about my choices and choose better ones :)

Lifting WOD:

130419:
5 sets 5 reps Power Clean 35#
4 sets 4x 55#
3 sets 3# 75#
2 sets 2# 85#
1 RM: 95#
I could have done more weight each set. I wasn’t sure if my strength of my power clean was the same as my last 1RM of 115#. But now I know. I keep doubting myself I guess. Trying to test the waters a little. Guess I should just go at it with more confidence.

Breakfast
• 2 Organic Pasture Raised Eggs cooked in Ghee
• Steamed Green Beans
• 2 Kiwis
• 1/2 Cottage Cheese
• Unsweetened Sun Tea

Making a big change to better myself. Been at it for a month. It may not seem like long but to me after I fell off the wagon, 1-2 weeks I’d be in good habits then quit. But now I am noticing a huge difference not to mention 4 weeks ago I weighed in at 160 pounds and today I am 154 at 35.9 Body Fat %. I have big goals this time around and know I have a different attitude this time around and no one not even myself will come in the way of who I visualize myself becoming!

That Moment

All this time, maybe this is what I’ve been waiting for. That moment when it clicks “Hey you have to do something.”
Even though it was a slow process and I ignored it as much as I could I finally noticed yesterday how weak I’m getting. I did 13.3
• 150 Wall Balls
• 90 Double Unders
• 30 Muscle Ups
I went into that workout and hadn’t put it any training time this week. I finished at 141 Wall Balls. I wanted to throw up, I tasted blood in my mouth, I was having trouble breathing, and finally as I was going home I started crying. I know it might be a bit dramatic. But to me I was not happy with how I finished. I had been capable of much more than that. I’ve fallen behind that now I’m comparing myself to other athletes at the box. I shouldn’t though. They put in the hours for training. Those who signed up for the open and keep training I’m so proud to see how much they have advanced.
I kept trying to hit that target yesterday 3 no reps and I couldn’t breath and finally got one and finished at 141. I got so many no reps.
I hate wall balls but they used to be a peace of cake. 16# No Problem. 14 pounder beat the shit out of me yesterday.
I made myself a promise yesterday. I will never give up on myself again. It’s not a program or people or any other excuses. I need to want this more than anything. And now I sure as hell do.
I went in this morning to the box, paid my April dues did Death by Pull-Ups and when my hands ripped while doing my 11 pull up set in a minute I still kept going. I have 4 blisters that ripped and hurt right now but I didn’t give up till I finished 13.
I have a long ways to go fellow tumblr folks. But I’d like to say I’m back and ready to conquer this journey and improve myself. To train in every aspect and be fit and even better than I was before.
It’s time to train for life.

Thursday WOD 130221

7 rounds for time
15 Wall Ball @ 14#
15 Power Cleans @ 75#
15 Box Jumps 20”
25min Time Cap
Rounds: 5

I don’t understand the time cap. I’m capable of much more than that. I was on my 6th round I could have taken another 5 min and done everything. I know I can do much more than that. No more time caps for me. I’m finishing strong. I just felt limited and didn’t feel like I challenged my capabilities. I can push past those limits.

It’s been a long time since I’ve been on here. It’s taking me a while to realize the change I needed in my life. I got depressed again and faded away from everything I had worked for. In the last month I realized what I needed to do to be happy. I went back to working out at Crossfit, started running again and started eating clean. I bounced back quickly. Yesterday my boyfriend took me out on my first 10k hill run. And every location we ran by had a story that related to how we met and many of our first as a couple. I didn’t believe I could finish that run I was in a lot of pain but once I crossed the steepest hill and made it to the end. He told me how he was so proud of me and I was capable of more than be believed in and he loved me. We both looked down at the trail we had run. Standing at the highest point of the town. I had done that. I cried I was so proud. And then I turned around and he asked me, down on one knee smiling so beautifully “Will you marry me?” I said Yes. I’m so in love and so happy. This is the start to a new future that run changed my life in so many ways.

One Twenty Five: Proceed with caution.

one-twenty-five:

Short of the amputation diet, I have tried nearly every diet known to chubby folk; high-protein, low-carbs, no-carbs, slim-fast, atkins, south-beach, Weight-Watchers, paleo, gluten-Free, dairy-free, Jenny-Craig, Dr.-B., cabbage-diet, & Eat-Clean-Diet. Whoa.

Right out the gate I’ve been…

Sometimes It’s Not Meant To Be.

A few months ago I posted news about my pregnancy. I was scared, excited, and happy to bring a new life into this world.  When I found out I was in shock, 6 weeks pregnant, and shared my news with family and friends and of course the lovely people here on Tumblr. Life was changing for me. Doctors appointments, new priorities in my life. My health decreased. I kept thinking it was normal and was just having pregnancy symptoms but co-workers told me some of them weren’t normal. I lost my baby 3 weeks after I found out I was pregnant. I’ve been depressed and been on anti-depressants for a couple months now. I am thankful for the people that were there for me and still are through trying to recover from this. I know I never will forget about my baby. What happened changed my life.

Right now I am trying to just recover. This isn’t an easy journey. I have a lot of support and thankful for these people in my life.
