•1000m Row

Tuesday WOD:
• 60 KB Snatches (30/arm @ 26#)

• 30 Burpees
• 20 Pull Ups Blue Band

My First Rant. Warning.
Comments: Did not have a great workout today. My mood was completely ruined. Here’s the story. There’s this new girl that’s been coming to the gym. She is always complaining and never listens to the coaches or pointers we give her and always cheats her reps. Well today when we were doing the weighted squats the trainer told her to pick the ball up and once he turned around she went back to her way of doing it. Well I told her to hold the ball up and don’t bend down with her back. Well this girl drops the ball and comes and tries to tell me off and tries to get me to stop the workout to give her my attention. Im like shut your mouth girl. It was annoying and not cool because there was a new person trying out our class today. I got really mad about it because I just told how the correct and safe way to do it. I don’t know if it was just me but how she acted and talked back was disrespectful. I’ve been there for a while and practiced the movements and know what I’m talking about. She won’t listen to anyone and just cheats her way through each workout. The thing is I’m just not diggin’ the environment anymore with her in the class it’s just not fun to go and come back upset. There have been other issues the past few weeks since she arrived. I’m not gonna pay attention but if she pushes my buttons again I’m gonna end up swinging a kettlebell at her.

Hello Out There!

This week has been a hectic week. Here’s the recap of all the productive things I been doing. Learning how to be a draw blood, register patients, testing/paperwork, learning the computer system, and all the dandy stuff that my new job requires me to know. My WODs/running schedule, cooking all my healthy meals early in the morning, finishing my photos from last weeks competition, learning how to drive stick, and way so much more. Damn no wonder I’m exhausted.

So let me tell you a little more in detail about what’s going on.

New Job!

It’s pretty awesome to have this new adventure of becoming a pediatric phlebotomist. I know it’s going to take much work and effort to learn everything. Of course I know this job requires my focus and knowledge. No messing up, ya that makes me a bit nervous. But I am learning pretty fast and I know I will do amazing at this job. I never really though how having a title with a job would give me kind of a sense of pride. I’m proud of myself for listening to the people around me who were trying to motivate me and push me to get this job. I realize how amazing of a family, friends, and boyfriend I have. Because of their encouragement, my life has really drastically changed. In a matter of weeks to be honest. And I am thankful for that. The reason why is because I would have been terrified and anxious about this before. And here I am excited and confident about a new job. I’m not used to being so busy to be honest. I’m busy since 6AM to 5PM with Crossfit, Getting Ready, Working, then home to keep working. It will take a bit to get used to but I’ll do it.

Crossfit & Nutrition!

I been trying to make a big change. Putting in that extra time to train and struggling with new challenges. I realized I needed to work with more weight, focus on learning the skills I am not familiar or good at yet, running more to pick up my speed and endurance. And of course letting my boyfriend take over in double workout hell. :) I admit I still struggle because since I have been started this, Yes I have seen so much improvement in my muscles. But not as much on my body fat pecentage. And I know and admit that it has to do with my nutrition and situations I was going through. I was still on and off medication and had to be changing them many times so my moods were going up and down and all around quite often. But I had to deal with the struggles and priorities changed. Sometimes trying to make it to Crossfit, sometimes it was sticking to Paleo/Paleo-ish eating, deal with weight gain from medication, and sometimes it was trying to get myself out of a depressed mode and preventing myself to get worse. These are not excuses though. I know how life is sometimes so I have to deal with what I can. I’m good at the moment so thats why I’m trying to balance out a lot. With the help of the beautiful people in my life of course. Boyfriend is helping a bunch by sticking right there with me. Nutrition: I have been eating healthy but still need to cut out some things but I will do that slowly since I want to stick for it for the long run. I know the game-plan and have everything planned accordingly. My meals for the week and my limits. I decided the other day that I will not allow myself cheat days until I have a minimum of one month of consistent clean eating and then allow myself that.

All The Other Good Stuff!

  1. My photography hobbie/side job is really getting pretty awesome! I did it for fun mostly and now its really hitting off. Already got appointments for sessions. Going to buy new equipment soon so I can get a little more professional.
  2. Finally learning how to drive stick. I hate it but I know that it will be great to know. And it’s also required for my job. But my boyfriend laughed so much yesterday at how much I was screaming at his truck because I couldn’t reach anything. Grr. He wanted to YouTube my experience.

There are things like my remodeling furniture/upholstery project and studies I had to put on hold for now. But can’t wait to get back to them. Also couldn’t upload my vid on time today for the CF Games because I knocked out and woke up after the deadline. Damnit. Oh well there’s always next year. I will still be doing the WODs and cheering on my loves who are participating. Have a great day. Thanks for reading.

Om Nom Noms! Day 1/60

Breakfast: Whey Protein Fruit (Banana, Orange, OJ)
Morning Snack: Banana
Lunch: Chicken Salad with Bacon, Cucumbers, Red&Green Bell Pepper, a bit of Parmesan Cheese, Caesar Dressing
Afternoon Snack: Coffee, Orange and Caveman Cookie
Dinner: Nummy Grilled Flank Steak and Sautéed and Seasoned Mixed Vegetables

Comments: Getting back to healthier eating. My health was being affected causing me to get sick and affected my sleep, workouts and energy. My lack of energy affected my illness. So just eating as clean as I can. Salad was made at a restaurant on my lunch break. I want to start making my own dressings again. And a variety of seasonings. Boyfriend made me dinner :)
On another note. I love my new job and my co-workers are awesome. So excited I get to experience this new challenge!

WOD 2/20

4RFT:

  • 20 Pull Ups @ Blue Band
  • 30 Push Ups
  • 40 AbMat Sit Ups
  • 50 Air Squats

20min time cap: finished with 3 rounds and 20 Pull Ups + 20 Push Ups but kept going to finish my 4th round.

Haven’t really talked about the experience I had being a photographer at a Crossfit competition. It made me really nervous. Probably because I had to keep moving around people. I’ve never photographed any sports/action so I think for my first time I did pretty well. Will post my favorite photo of the bunch in a bit :)

Competition Photographer.

Had a long morning at Crossfit Station taking pictures of the athletes doing their WODs. It was cold and I was tired from standing and running back and forth trying to get different shots. Overall it was fun. There wasn’t that great of light because the first 2 WODs were indoors but I did great and fixed my settings :) Really wish I could have gotten my new flash for my camera. Up since 5am and worked until 2pm. So tired and just want to rest. Going to start editing the photos in a bit. Rawr so much work. But it’s all so fun!
